Poet, Creative Writer, and Media writer Lynnette Daughtry Barrett is a native of Virginia Beach, Va. Lynnette is a Communications graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Lynnette has always possessed a passion for writing and has worked at several colleges and universities throughout the country in the field of higher education administration. As a freelance writer, Lynnette's works have been published in several newsletters and magazines. In addition to her work with As the Sands Burn , Lynnette is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Today's Entrepreneur Magazine. Lynnette currently resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Kelby.

Darrius Jerome Gourdine is an author, poet, ghost writer and co-owner of Artisan Blue, a Washington DC based graphic design and content development firm. A 1992 graduate of Howard University, Darrius has also founded Darrius Jerome Gourdine MENistries, a for profit company geared toward the strengthening of the family through the character development of young men. Darrius recently partnered with ChristianHangSuite.com to create a new online Christian Soap "The SAVED and The RESTLESS".

BET.com was the largest online destination for African American on the internet. Weekly viewing was upward of 100,000 impressions.

"Beyond the Burning Sands" 2003 – 2006 (online soap opera)
Spin off soap opera from As the Sands Burn. Beyond the Burning Sands depicted the lives of students at fictitious Historical Black University, Amgis College.

Theaterical Gospel situation comedy. Back by popular demand in July 2005 and January 2006.
