Season 1 - Episode 27
We resume our episode this week back at Baldwin Memorial hospital where Dr Joseph Davenport’s nurse, Judy has just walked in on him and Melinda in a passionate embrace.
Judy: I uh........just wanted to tell you that Natalie Robertson is awake.
Joseph: Thank you, Judy. Is that all?
Judy: Yes. Oh......wait. One other thing.........your wife is here........
Joseph: Thank you Judy. I’ll be right out.
Judy: Yes, Dr. Davenport.
Judy turns to leave and then turns back.
Judy: Oh and Dr. Davenport………what about your wife?
Joseph (firmly): I said I’ll be right out.
Judy: Yes, Dr.
Judy walks out of the office and closes the door behind her. Melinda immediately begins gathering up her purse and her jacket.
Joseph: Melinda, wait. Where are you going?
Melinda: Joseph, I am humiliated!
Joseph: Melinda, calm down.
Melinda: Calm down? What do you mean calm down? Your nurse just walked in on us and you want me to calm down!
Joseph: Yes, I do. First off, Judy isn’t going to say anything to anybody. And even if she did tell her, so what? I told you, Melinda. I’m ready to make this thing with you legit..
Melinda: Joseph this is crazy. I have to get out of here. I didn’t come here for this.
Melinda puts on her jacket and heads towards the door.
Joseph: Melinda, wait! Please don’t leave like this!
Melinda flings the door open and finds Carsen standing on the other side.....

Back in the dorms, Krystalyn has returned from her walk with Patrick. She has just logged onto her computer to check her facebook page when Laray bursts into their room in tears.
Krystalyn: Oh my gosh! Laray! What’s wrong?
Laray (sobbing): Oh Krys!
Krystalyn: Laray! What is it?
Krystalyn gets up to hug Laray. Laray buries her head into Krystalyn’s shoulder and continues to cry.
Krystalyn: Aww……..soror…….it’s okay……..
Laray: No, it’s not!
Krystalyn: What is it? Sit down and tell me what’s wrong.
Laray sits on the edge of the bed as Krystalyn hands her some tissues.
Laray: I just left the hospital.
Krystalyn: What? Are you okay? Are you hurt?
Laray: No, I’m fine. Natalie fell and had to be rushed to the ER.
Krystalyn: Oh no! Is she okay?
Laray: I’m not sure. I rushed over there to meet Nate, and…
Krystalyn….and what?
Laray: And when I walked into the E.R. I saw Nate holding hands with someone else…
Krystalyn: Someone else? Who?
Laray: I mean I told you we had a fight last week but…..how could he? When I called him, he seemed like he was relieved to hear from me. Why didn’t he just tell me he had moved on?
Krystalyn: Laray, maybe it wasn’t what it looked like.
Laray: Krys, I never told you what the fight was really about.
Krystalyn: Okay…….
Laray (looks up with tears in her eyes): When I went over to Nate’s last week, I found a bag in his room. An overnight bag…..
Krystalyn: Yeah….
Laray: It had initials on the front of it. S.D.
Krystalyn (with a confused look on her face): S.D.?
Laray: Yes! S.D……… Sheena Davenport!

Scene 1 Continued...
Melinda flings the door open and finds Carsen standing on the other side. Carsen looks at Melinda and then at Joseph and looks visibly shaken.
Carsen(with a surprised look): Mmm...Me..Melinda......
Melinda: Carsen.
Carsen looks over at Joseph.
Carsen: Joe......honey......what's going on?
Joseph: What do you mean?
Carsen: I mean...why is Melinda...why were you two here...together........
Silence
Carsen: Melinda...
Melinda: Carsen...I....we...I just needed to talk to Joe about Natalie.
Carsen: I see. She's awake now.
Melinda: Um, yes. We heard. Judy just stopped by. I was actually on my way to see her and her parents now.
Carsen: Well, please don't let me stop you.
Melinda: Okay, then. So I guess I'll be on my way. Joseph, thank you for that information and uh...I guess I'll see you around. Carsen.....I guess I'll see you on campus.
Joseph: No problem, Melinda. I'll see you around.
Melinda steps past Carsen and begins walking towards the elevator. Carsen waits for a second and then follows behind her.
Carsen (yelling behind Melinda): Oh Melinda! Could you hold on for one second? I just remembered something from the Parent's Council meeting I needed to tell you.
Melinda (turning around): Sure. What is it, Carsen?
Carsen catches up to Melinda and steps close to her.
Carsen (in a low voice, just above a whisper): There's nothing I need to tell you from Parent's Council. However, I do have a message for you, Melinda Ferguson. I don't know what you are up to. I don't know what you might think is or isn't going on with you and my husband and honestly, I don't care. I'm going to tell you this one time...stay away from my husband.
Melinda: Excuse me?
Carsen: Don't play that game with me, Melinda. That innocent role might work on everyone else but I know you and have known you for a long time. You heard exactly what I said. Just know that I do not plan on having to say it again.
Carsen turns and leaves Melinda standing in the hall.

Over at the Omega Psi Phi House, Stasha has just confessed to her boyfriend Kyle that she is ready to loose her virginity to him.
Stasha: Kyle, is everything okay?
Kyle: No, Stasha, it’s not. I’m sorry but……..I can’t let you do this.
Stasha: What? Why not?
Kyle: Because……..you waited so long and I don’t know. I just don’t think you should compromise your beliefs because it’s something you think I want.
Stasha: But that’s not why, Kyle. I love you and I feel ready for this.
Kyle: Stasha………I don’t know. I love you too, baby. But I know you weren’t ready before and…..
Stasha moves closer to Kyle and takes him by the hand.
Stasha: Kyle…….I love you. I have never loved anyone the way that I love you. I know that you love me too and I know that we are goin’ to get married. I have waited a long time. You are right. But the reason I waited is because I wanted it to be with the man who loved me as much as I loved him. And I know that I’ve found that with you. I know that one day I’m goin’ to be your wife. And when I think about you and about us, the love that I feel just fills me up. I just want to show you how deeply I feel for you, Kyle. I want to give you a gift that I have given no other. I’m ready, Kyle.
Kyle: Stash……..
Stasha: Shh………don’t talk. Just kiss me…….
Kyle leans in and gently kisses Stasha. He pulls back and pulls her close to him and hugs her tightly.
Stasha: Why did you stop? I’m ready…….now…….
Kyle: Are you sure?
Stasha: More than I have been about anything else in my entire life.
Kyle gently strokes Stasha’s face. Stasha closes her eyes in anticipation of Kyle’s kiss. Kyle leans in and kisses her gently. Kyle stands up and takes Stasha by the hand and gently leads her up the stairs towards his bedroom.

Scene 2 Continued
Laray: Yes! S.D…………..Sheena Davenport!
Krystalyn: And what did he say about the bag?
Laray: That he didn’t know where the bag came from. He was just so….evasive and then he tried to flip it on me. Like I was crazy or something! And now this…..
Krystalyn: What do you mean?
Laray: Sheena was the one I saw Nate holding hands with.
Krystalyn: Oh wow.
Laray: Yeah. So now you see why I’m so upset.
Krystalyn: You really think Nate is cheatin’ on you?
Laray: Honestly, Krys, I don’t know. If you had asked me before today, I would have said no. But I don’t even know anymore.
Krystalyn: I don’t know, Laray. Nate doesn’t seem like that kinda guy.
Laray: I know. But how do you explain Sheena’s bag all of a sudden popping up in his room? And then today?
Krystalyn: Well Natalie is her soror so maybe he was just tryin’ to comfort her. Her and Natalie seem pretty close.
Laray: Krystalyn, whose side are you on here?
Krystalyn: I’m not on anyone’s side! Well I mean…….yours……..but…..I just don’t want to see you hurt. I’m just tryin’ to explore all the possibilities here. Plus, Nate’s a good lookin’ guy. Sheena probably likes him but that doesn’t mean Nate likes her. I just don’t want you gettin’ all worked up for nothin’.
Laray: Well it sure didn’t look like nothin’.
Krystalyn: (sighs): Aww Laray. I think you should give Nate the benefit of the doubt here. All men don’t cheat, Laray. Just look at me and Patrick. I mean, maybe there is some logical explanation. All I’m sayin’ is…..at least let him explain.
Laray: You really think so?
Krystalyn: I really do, Laray. Nate’s a good guy. I don’t think he’d do anything to hurt you. Personally, I think we’re two of the luckiest girls on this campus. Most of these guys at Ahpla are dogs. You and I probably have the only two decent guys on campus. The only ones who can be trusted not to sleep with everything in a skirt! (laughs)
Laray: Yeah, I guess you’re right.
Krystalyn: Of course I am. That’s why I’m the better half of the room. (laughs)
Laray: (laughing) Whatever, Krys!
Krystalyn: Seriously. Why don’t we both go back to the hospital and see if we can find Nate? I’m sure he’s goin’ through a lot right now and really needs you. So once we find them, you can take care of Nate, and I’ll be sure I take care of Sheena…..

Scene 3 Continued
We rejoin Stasha and Kyle in Kyle’s bedroom. Lying in bed beside each other, Stasha lays her head into Kyle’s chest and he pulls her closer to him.
Stasha: Wow……..so that’s what it’s like, huh?
Kyle: Uh oh. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Stasha (giggling): It’s a good thing, silly! That was…..wonderful. There are no words.
Kyle: What about you! You surprised me girl!
Stasha: What do you mean?
Kyle: I guess I expected you to be a little bit shy since it was the first time!
Stasha: Kyle! Stop it! You’re embarrassing me!
Kyle: What? I’m just saying! I ain’t expect all that.
Stasha: Well…….it’s you. I can't help myself. I feel so comfortable with you, Kyle. I feel like I can really be myself around you.
Kyle: Well let me just tell you…….if that’s the real you, I like it!
Stasha: You are terrible! (laughing)
Kyle: I’m just playin’ girl.
Stasha(sighing): So how do you feel?
Kyle: About what?
Stasha: About us. About this. What we just did. What do you think?
Kyle: I mean…..it was good. It was great. I still can’t believe it happened.
Stasha: Me either. I feel so much closer to you now.
Kyle: Yeah. That too…..
Stasha: I can’t wait until we get married.
Kyle: I know. It’s comin’, Stash. Just as soon as I get drafted, we gonna have a huge wedding with all my bruhs and all your sorors there. It’s gonna be hot.
Stasha (laughing): I can’t wait. And then we can really do this all the time.
Kyle: Slow down, girl!
Stasha: Kyle, I am 21 years old. I been movin’ slow enough.... we got some catchin’ up to do! So uh….you think you might be up for a repeat?
Kyle: I think that could be arranged. Why don’t you come on over here and let me see what I can……..
Kyle’s cell phone starts to ring. Kyle looks confused and Stasha bends down to pick it up off the floor.
Stasha: Kyle.
Kyle: Yeah? Who is it?
Stasha: You wanna tell me why Karissa is calling your phone?
