Mona steps close to Denitra's face. Mona: Denitra... Denitra: Yes, Big Sister Paper Wait. I trust you and will follow everything you say. Mona moves down to LaShonda. Mona: Lashonda... LaShonda: Yes, Big Sister Paper Wait. I trust you and I will follow everything you say. Mona moves down to Tierra. Mona: Tierra... Silence Mona: Tierra.... Tierra (turning towards Denitra and LaShonda): I'm sorry ya'll.........I can't do this... Mona: Excuse me? Tierra: I'm sorry but I can't do this. None of the AKA's from school are here. I just don't have a good feelin' about this. Mona: Then get off my line. Silence. Tierra looks down at the line and no one is looking or moving. Mona (yells): I said get off my line! Now! Tierra slowly steps off and looks down again. Denitra and LaShonda do not look up. Tierra: If you two can't see how demented this is, then you're just as crazy as she is. When you finally catch on to her game, you know where to find me. Tierra turns and walks away. Mona: Do you two want to go with her? It's not too late. Speak now or forever hold your peace. Laci: Taylor, I ain't know you had a boyfriend. Taylor: That was part of the problem. The fact that it was such a big secret. Laci: Soror, who was it? Taylor: KaShawn Laci: The Iota? Taylor: Yeah, that's him.... Laci: Wow! I'm surprised! I ain't know Shawn was down with the.... Laci stops herself. Taylor: It's okay, soror. I know what you were thinkin'. And that was why he kept it a secret, I think. I mean he'd never admit it, but I know he ain't wanna be seen out with a white girl. Laci: Dag soror, I'm sorry....... Taylor: Yeah, me too. And now I think I've ruined any chance I may have had with him. Laci: Well you never know. Taylor: Yeah, I hear you but I really think it's over. I mean, he won't even return my calls. Laci: Do you want me to try and talk to him for you? Taylor: Shawn? Do you even know him? Laci: I mean, a lil bit. But you seem so down, soror. And I really want this to work out for you. I mean at least one of us should be happy, right? Taylor: Aww.......Laci, I'm sure it will work out with Joriah. Laci: Doubt it. But anyway.......do you think Kashawn is at home? I could swing by there on my way to the dorm. Taylor: I don't know. Like I said, he won't pick up when I call. Laci: Well try not to let it get you too down, soror. Since your other line sorors have already dropped, that means there are those who are no longer in the process, but know about it. This line must remain top secret. You cannot speak a word of this. Not even to your closest friends or family members. This line is going to be a surprise to everyone. Including the sorors on campus.... Silence Mona: I think this is enough for tonight. I'm tired. Denitra: Big Sister, Paper Wait....can I have permission to speak? Mona: Yes, Ivy, you may speak. Denitra: What would Big Sister Paper Wait like for breakfast in the morning? Mona: Do I have to tell you idiots everything? Figure it out! Now get out of here! Now! LaShonda and Denitra quickly begin to walk away together in a straight line, leaving Mona behind. Denitra: I can't believe Tierra dropped line. LaShonda: Yeah, I guess. Denitra: What do you mean? LaShonda: I don't know, Nitra. I mean what did Mona, I mean, Big Sister mean when she said our line would be a surprise even to the sorors? Maybe Tierra is right. Maybe we need to get out of this while we still can. Denitra: That's crazy. I mean Big Sister is the Director of Greek Life! She wouldn't be doin' this if it was illegal. LaShonda: I guess you're right. Denitra: I know I am. LaShonda: But Brian said... Denitra: Brian doesn't know everything! When Joriah was on line for Kappa, no one knew about it, either. That's how greeks do thing.........you know what........maybe I'll call Joriah and ask him about it. I mean I know he wouldn't say anything and then we'd have another opinion of someone who has been there. Plus, he's greek so he'll know if this is a real line or not. LaShonda: Are you sure he won't tell? Denitra: Yeah, I am. Denitra picks up here phone and dials Joriah's number. Denitra: Hmm, it went straight to Voicemail. Let me try again. Denitra dials Joriah's number again. Denitra: It's ringin...hopefully he picks up so we can get this thing settled once and for all....... ________________________________________________________________________________________ On campus at the library, Kiaterria has just run into her cousin, Kyle.
_______________________________________________________________________________________ Over at Kashawn's apartment, he and Shakir are hangin' out when there is a knock on the door. Kashawn (looks over at Shakir): You expectin' someone? Shakir: What? This your place... Kashawn: Yeah, whateva. I know how you roll! Shakir: Man, I told you. I'm tryin' to settle down. The knock comes again. Kashawn gets up and walks to the door. He looks out of the peephole and sees that it is Laci. Kashawn: Laci? Shakir: Fine Laci? The Delta? Kashawn: Yeah, man. Wonder what she want. Kashawn opens the door. Kashawn: What's up Laci. Laci: Hey, Shawn. I was wonderin' if we could chat for a little bit... Kashawn: Um, yeah, that's cool. I have to say though, I'm a little surprised to see you over here. Laci: I know. But I wanted to talk to you about Taylor. I just left her apartment and she's really upset about you two breakin' up.... From inside the apartment, Shakir begins to yell. Shakir: Taylor? Shawn, that was you? Dag frat! Why you ain't say nothin'! Laci: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you had company. Kashawn: Yeah, it's alright. Laci: Oh well like I was sayin'.......Taylor is really upset, and.... Karissa hangs up before Kiaterria can respond. Kiaterria thinks: That was so weird. Why the heck would she be calling Kyle? Still holding his phone, Kiaterria begins to scroll through Kyle's call log to see if Karissa's number has appeared before. She doesn't see it and begins to feel silly for questioning it, and then decides to go through his text messages. She sees a message from Karissa listed for earlier that day. She opens the message to see what it says. Text Message: Hey. Call me when u can. I need 2 c u again. Last night was AMAZING. After the 1st time, I didn't think it could get n-e betta. I was wrong... Kiaterria cannot believe what she is reading and continues to scroll through his messages for more. She sees one more for this afternoon. Text Message: Okay I'll hit u up and u can come by when u leave the library. I can't wait. I'll b sure 2 wear my purple and gold thong... She quickly switches over to his sent messages folder to see what Karissa was responding to. Text Message: Yeah, it was good. Gotta go 2 the library around 6, but hit me up so we can c what up 4 2nite. Kiaterria is in shock at what she is reading, when she hears Kyle's voice interrupting her. Kyle: Tee, what are you doin'? Kiaterria looks up at him with surprise and disappointment on her face. Kiaterria: What am I doin'? No, Kyle, the real question is what are you doin'? For real, cuz? You're sleepin' with Karissa? How could you!
