Season 2 - Episode 10 We resume our episode this week with Melinda and Lashonda who are having lunch together. Lashonda: Auntie Linda.....there was one thing I wanted to talk to you about.... Melinda: Okay. What is it? I'm all ears. Lashonda: Um.....well......it's about.....uh.... Melinda: Yes? What is it dear? Lashonda: It's about.... Lashonda stops when she notices that something behind her has caught Melinda's eye. She turns to look and sees Mona walking over towards the table.... Mona: Well hello you two! What a surprise! Melinda looks up at Mona. Melinda: A surprise, huh? Mona: Well, yes! Melinda: Mona, you knew I was having lunch with Lashonda today. Mona: Yes, but I certainly didn't expect to see you here. Why I just love this place! I eat here all the time. Is it okay for me to join you? Before either Melinda or Lashonda have the opportunity to answer, Mona beckons the hostess over to the table to request another chair. Mona (sitting down in between Lashonda and Melinda): Hi god sis! Lashonda: Hi Mona. Mona (smiling): So what are you two ladies been chatting it up about? Fill me in and don't leave out a thing! _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at Joi's room, Sy'Mone is there visiting with her and the baby. Someone: Oh my goodness! Joi! Zion's gettin' so big already! Joi: I know! Can you believe it? Sy'Mone: He's such a good baby! He barely cries. Joi: Yeah, I'm blessed with that. I just wish he would start to sleep through the night. Sy'Mone: Yeah girl, I know you do. I know how you love your sleep! Joi: (laughing) Okay girl! Zion starts to cry and Joi goes over to pick him up. She begins to rock him back and forth until he settles down and falls back asleep. Sy'Mone: You're so good at that. Joi: You think so? Sy'Mone: Yeah! Much better than me. I'd be completely confused. Joi: I'm so tired though. Between the baby and trying to catch up with my school work, I am exhausted! Sy'Mone: Yeah, I bet. Joi: So have you see Krystalyn? Sy'Mone: Nah. I've seen Laray but not her. I guess she's just trying to lay low for now. Joi: What about Patrick? Sy'Mone: Yeah I seen that punk around campus a few times! Joi: Hmm. Did he say anything? Sy'Mone: Say anything about what? You? Zion? Joi: No. I mean....I don't know. Just anything....did he say anything? Sy'Mone: No and I didn't expect him to. And you shouldn't either, Joi. Now you told me yourself that the jerk told you flat out he wanted nothin' to do with Zion. Joi: Yeah, I know....I just... Sy'Mone: Just what? Girl you have a great man who is being there for you and your baby. Now you need to just let this Patrick stuff go cause it is really ridiculous. Patrick doesn't want you, Joi. And the sooner you face that, the better off everyone will be in this situation... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Mona (smiling): So what are you two ladies been chatting it up about? Fill me in and don't leave out a thing! Mona looks back and forth between Melinda and Lashonda, waiting for one of them to speak. Melinda: Shonda and I were just getting caught up on things, that's all. Mona: Oh okay... Melinda: I'm sorry.....actually Shonda, weren't you about to tell me something? I'm sorry for cutting you off. What was it you wanted to talk about, sweetheart? Lashonda looks up and then looks over at Mona, who is gazing at her across the table. Lashonda: Oh um.....it was nothing. It can wait until another time. Melinda: No sweetie! Please....what was it you wanted to say? Silence Lashonda: Really, Aunt Linda.....it can wait. Melinda: Are you sure? Mona: Mother....she said it can wait. You don't want to pressure the girl, do you? Melinda: Well no....I wasn't trying to..... Lashonda: You know I'm actually kinda tired. Melinda: Oh no! Really? Lashonda: Yeah, I kinda have a headache. I was up late studying last night. Melinda: I remember those days! Alright, well I'm going to use the restroom before we go, if you ladies will excuse me for a second. Melinda stands up and pulls out a credit card out of her wallet and hands it to Mona. Melinda: Mona, please take care of the bill when the server comes back. Mona: No problem, mother. Melinda walks away and Mona leans over close to Lashonda. Mona: So what exactly were you planning to talk to my mother about, Lashonda? I certainly hope it wasn't about your little mishap with the sorority. Trust me when I tell you that this looks a lot worse on you and Denitra that it ever will on me. I'm already an AKA and if you ever have any chance of being one, you'll shut your mouth and keep quiet. My mother is a very important woman in the sorority and you do not want to piss her off! Do you understand? Lashonda begins to tear up. Mona: Oh I don't even believe this crap. Are you seriously about to cry? You better get yourself together before my mother comes back and then she'll know something is up. Mona picks up the car keys and throws them across the table. Mona: Here. Go outside and wait in the car. I'll tell mom the lights were making your headache worse. Just make sure you get rid of those tear before we come out. Without saying a word, Lashonda grabs the keys and run outside. Once she gets outside, she pulls out her cell phone and begin to dial. Voicemail: Hello...you have reached Valerie Edwards. I'm away from my phone right now. Please leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Lashonda (in a shaky voice): Mom....it's me....please call me back when you get this. I need to talk to you about something and it's very important... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ On campus, Stasha is standing outside of her dorm waiting for her friend to come and move her things out of her room, when her soror, Kiaterria walks up. Kiaterria: Are you moving? Stasha: Yes, I am. Kiaterria: Okay now you've got me worried. What is goin' on around here? Stasha: Tee.....your cousin cheated on me.....with Karissa.... Kiaterria's mouth drops wide open Stasha: That was pretty much my reaction, too.... Kiaterria: Oh Stash....how did you find out? Stasha: Long story.... Kiaterria gets angry and starts to talk to herself. Kiaterria: I can't believe them! I thought they had stopped! Stasha: Excuse me? Kiaterria: I said I can't believe that creep! I thought he had stopped! Stasha: So you knew about this....... Kiaterria: Oh well....... Stasha: I don't believe this! You too? Kiaterria: Stash, I didn't know that.... Stasha: You didn't know what? Huh? Either you did or you didn't, Tee. Kiaterria: But I.... Stasha: Did you or did you not know that your cousin was sleepin' with Karissa? Kiaterria: Stasha..I... Stasha: Yes or no, Tee! Kiaterria: Yes, I did. Stasha looks at Kiaterria with a look of disgust. Stasha: I guess I can't trust anyone these days....not even my so called sisters! _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 2 Continued.... Joi: Yes, I am. In fact, Jovan and I are moving in together. Sy'Mone: For real, girl? Joi: Yep. Sy'Mone: And when did you decide this? Joi: Just recently. Sy'Mone: Wow! So does that mean you guys are gettin' engaged? Joi: Well I don't know.....it just means we're movin' in together.... Sy'Mone: Well that's great. I'm really happy for you. So where are you movin'? Joi: I don't know. We're still lookin' at place, but I did find this new complex I really like. It's pretty close to campus and everything is all new. Just not sure how affordable it's gonna be. Sy'Mone: Wow! We have to go shopping for decorations! Joi: Girl you know I don't have an eye for that stuff! Sy'Mone:I'll help you! Joi: Thanks, girl. Sy'Mone: Well I guess I better get goin'.....I have a Chem test tomorrow. Joi: Oh yeah I guess you better, then.....although there was one thing I wanted to talk to you about before you left. Sy'Mone: What's up? Joi: The line? What is gonna happen? I mean with all that's happened with the baby and Patrick and Krys.....are my chances of ever becoming a Zeta at Ahpla gone forever? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 3 Continued... Stasha: Did you or did you not know that your cousin was sleepin' with Karissa? Kiaterria: Stasha..I... Stasha: Yes or no, Tee! Kiaterria: Yes, I did. Stasha looks at Kiaterria with a look of disgust. Stasha: I guess I can't trust anyone these days....not even my so called sisters! Kiaterria: Stash, I'm so sorry....I.... Stasha: You know what? Save it! I don't even want to hear it, for real! Kiaterria: Stash, please will you just hear me out? Stasha: What? What is it Tee? Kiaterria: Just listen to me, please! Stasha: You better make it quick. Kiaterria take a deep breath before she begins to speak. Kiaterria: I found out a few months ago....and.....I was furious! I cussed Kyle out and I almost fought Karissa. I mean....I was really angry. I couldn't believe what was going on. I.....I really believed them because they both swore to me they would stop! Stasha: And it never dawned on you to tell me? Kiaterria: No because.....I know how much you love Kyle and I honestly think he loves you. Stasha: Oh yeah....some way to show his love....sleeping around with my line sister. Kiaterria: Stash, I'm so sorry. Stasha: Yeah, me too. Sorry that eveyrone knew but me. I guess the jokes on me, huh? I guess I was just the big laugh of the joke, huh? Kiaterria: It wasn't like that Stash, I swear.... Stasha: And why should I believe you? Why should I believe any of you? I gotta get outta here.... Stasha walks away and leaves Kiaterria standing in front of the building. As she is walking around the campus, different locations remind her of time spent with her soror and times spent with Kyle. She begins to feel sad and lost. She finds a bench to sit on to rest and her cell phone begins to ring. She pulls her phone out and does not recognize the number, but she answers anyway. Stasha: Hello? Johnice: Hello....I'm looking for Stasha Webster. Stasha: This is her. Johnice: Hi Stasha....my name is Johnice and I'm a nurse down at the Planned Parenthood. We've been trying to reach you for a few weeks now. We need you to come in for some testing.....
