Season 2 - Episode 11 We resume our episode this week with the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma. Patrick: Brothers, we have a lot of work to do this semester. Marcellus: No doubt! We were kinda layin' low last semester, but we gotta come through hard this semester and show Ahpla who really run the yard. Donnell: Right! Patrick: Alright, Marcellus, go ahead and run through some of the programs you have lined up for us. Marcellus: Okay well first off, we're definitely going to kick off our tutoring program again. Every other Saturday morning down at the community center. We're going to do our mid semester food drive again. Also, I was thinking it would be good to start up a mentoring program. One of the local middle schools contacted me and a lot of the young guys really need someone they can look up to. Patrick: That sounds like a great idea. Donnell: Yeah, definitely. I mean if it's a lot of boys at the school though, maybe this is something we could bring to NPHC to try and do with all the frats. Patrick: Yeah that makes sense. I'll definitely try to get with Jovan about it. Marcellus: Okay, cool. Also the grad chapter brothers are having an event next weekend that they really want us to come out and support. Patrick: The Luau, right? Marcellus: Right. Patrick: Alright, let's all plan to go together to show some support. Marcellus: Okay well that's all I have for now, unless either of you has any questions. Donnell: Uh...back to the tutoring program.....are we going to still be doing that with the sorors this semester? Marcellus: I'm not sure. Pat...has Krys mentioned anything to you about it? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Sheena: Wow, Nate.....you really gave me a lot to think about. Nathaniel: Good. Now where is that pizza? Sheena laughs Sheena: I don't know! It better be free after all this time! Sheena leans in to hug Nate. Sheena:Thanks again, Nate. This talk really helped. I feel so much better.... Sheena hugs Nate tightly and pulls back slow, looking into his eyes. Without thinking, she leans in and begins to kiss him... Nate pulls back quickly to stop her. Sheena: Oh. Nate....I'm sorry. Nathaniel: Um, that's okay. I uh....I think I should go. Nathaniel stands up to leave. Sheena: Nate, no....please...don't go. Nathaniel: I.... Sheena: I'm so sorry. I got a little carried away. Please don't let that ruin the evening. I still have that pizza coming and...I really could use the company. Nathaniel: Sheena, I don't know... Sheena: Nate, please. I'm really sorry. I was wrong to do that. Apology accepted? Nathaniel hesitates before answering. Nathaniel: Apology accepted. Sheena: Can we start over? Nathaniel: Sure.... Sheena: I guess I should call and check on the pizza. Nathaniel: I'm starting to think you didn't really order one! Sheena (starts to laugh): You are so bad! Of course I did! Nathaniel's cell phone starts to ring. He looks down to see it's Laray. He presses ignore. Sheena: Did you need to take that? Nathaniel: Oh nah...I'm good..... Sheena: That wasn't Laray was it? Nathaniel: Actually yeah, it was.... Sheena: So why didn't you pick up? What's that all about? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Donnell: Uh...back to the tutoring program.....are we going to still be doing that with the sorors this semester? Marcellus: I'm not sure. Pat...has Krys mentioned anything to you about it? Patrick: We're not exactly on speakin' terms right now. Donnell: Wow....she still ain't talkin' to you? She won't playin'! Patrick: Yeah. Marcellus: So ya'll are done? Patrick: I think so. Donnell: Did you get to see your son yet? Patrick: What son? Donnell: The son that you and ol girl broke up over! Patrick: That's not my son. That's Jovan's son. Donnell: Okay.... Patrick: Just drop it, okay? Donnell: Alright.... Marcellus: Well in the meantime, I still need to know what's up for the tutoring program. Patrick: I'll find out. Donnell: Oh really? You actually gonna try to call her? Patrick: Nah...I'll swing by the dorm after we're done. She can avoid my calls but if I'm right in her face, she has to talk to me... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Across campus, Krystalyn is relaxing in her room, when Laray gets home from class. Laray: Hey soror! Krystalyn: Hey. Laray: How you feelin'? Krystalyn: The same. Laray: Awww...........no better? Krystalyn: Not really. Laray: Have you talked to Pat at all? Krystalyn: Talked to him about what? I have nothin' to say to him. What's done is done. Laray: I hear you. Krystalyn: I don't even want to talk about him. Laray: Have you even been out yet or have you still just been hangin' around here? Krystalyn: I guess I'm just not ready to face it all. Laray: Aww soror.... Krystalyn: Enough about me. How have you been? Laray: Not so good. Krystalyn: What? Why? What's wrong? Laray: The new Assembly advisor...Sean..... Krystalyn: Oh yeah I think I did hear they hired someone new. Anyway, what about him? Laray: Well........he fired me. Krystalyn: What? Laray: Yep. He removed me from my office as treasurer effective immediately.... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 2 Continued... Nathaniel's cell phone starts to ring. He looks down to see it's Laray. He presses ignore. Sheena: Did you need to take that? Nathaniel: Oh nah...I'm good..... Sheena: That wasn't Laray was it? Nathaniel: Actually yeah, it was.... Sheena: So why didn't you pick up? What's that all about? Nathaniel: No reason. I uh....don't get good reception sometimes in buildings. Sheena: Oh I see... Nathaniel: Matter of fact, I'm gonna step out for a second and see if I can get a signal out there. Sheena: Okay that's cool. And while you're out, I'll try to track down that pizza. Nathaniel steps out into the hall and dials Laray's number. It goes to voicemail. He hangs up and walks back into the apartment to find Sheena hanging up the house phone. Nathaniel: Voice mail. Sheena: Oh. Okay. Um I called about the pizza. For whatever reason, they had me down for a pick up instead of a delivery. They said at this point if we have it delivered, it would be about another thirty to forty five minutes. Nathaniel: Are you serious! I'm starving. Sheena: Me too. You wanna just roll up there and pick it up? Nathaniel: Sure. Why not. Sheena and Nathaniel open to the door to leave and find Natalie coming up the stairs with Demetrius. They look up with a very surprised look on their faces.... Demetrius: What's up Frat Nathaniel: What's up. Natalie: Hi twin! Soror....and where are you two headed? Sheena: To pick up some food. Natalie: Oh, I see.... Sheena: I rented a movie and Nate was gonna keep me company so I ordered some food. Natalie: Oh okay. Well don't let us stop you. We'll be here when you get back. Sheena: Oh. Does that mean we need to get enough for four? Natalie: Oh absolutely not. We've already eaten. Besides, I wouldn't want to get in the way.... Sheena: Okay. Sheena and Nate walk past Demetrius and Natalie. Natalie walks into the apartment and closes the door behind her. Natalie: I am so excited! Demetrius: About what? Natalie: Can't you see? It's finally happening! My brother and my best friend together! Finally! _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 3 Continued... Laray: The new Assembly advisor...Sean..... Krystalyn: Oh yeah I think I did hear they hired someone new. Anyway, what about him? Laray: Well........he fired me. Krystalyn: What? Laray: Yep. He removed me from my office as treasurer effective immediately.... Krystalyn: Oh no! Are you serious! Laray: Yep. Krystalyn: Wow. How you feelin'? Laray (sighs): I don't even know. I mean....I'm upset....and then I'm kinda relieved. Krystalyn: Relieved? Really? Laray: Yeah. I mean the treasurer job is a huge responsibility. Krystalyn: Was it gettin' to be too much for you to handle? Laray: Not really but with all this other stuff goin on....the charges and whatnot....it was just too much. Krystalyn: I hear you. So what's up with that anyway? Laray: Well now I'm basically just waiting to see what Sean is goin' to do. I just don't know. Krystalyn: Aww soror....well if there is anything I can do, just let me know.... Laray: I will. Thanks, soror. You've always been there for me. Even before we pledged... Krystalyn leans over and gives Laray a hug. Laray: That makes me think of somethin' though... Krystalyn: What's up? Laray: The line..... Krystalyn: Yeah, Sy'Mone said they should be ready to cross in the next few weeks. Laray looks at her in silence. Krystalyn: What's wrong? Laray: Well.....it's about Joi. Krystalyn: What about that backstabbing trick? Laray: Well.......it seems that Sy'Mone had already sent all the paperwork of who was being initiated into nationals before Joi had the baby.... Krystalyn (screams): What? Laray: Yeah....so.... Krystalyn: I already know what that means! That means we have to cross her!
