Season 2 - Episode 13 We resume our episode this week with the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta, who are meeting at the home of Natalie and Sheena. Natalie: Welcome sorors! We have quite a bit to discuss this evening. How is everyone doing? Sheena: Great, soror. Taylor: I'm fine. Laci: Yeah, I'm good. Natalie: Okay....Well first things first, Sheena, our membership chair is going to come up and give us a report. Sheena... Sheena: Thank you, soror. Well sorors...what I wanted to talk to you about is whether or not we want to try and do a line this semester. Several girls have expressed an interest to me and I know to some of you as well. So what are your thoughts? Laci: I think it's a great idea. Natalie: Taylor...what do you think? Taylor: Why does it matter what I think? Natalie: Uh cause you're a part of the chapter so you have a vote. So what do you think? Taylor: I think we need to focus on our own chapter relationships before we go tryin' to bring some new people into this mess. Sheena: Uh.......am I missing something? Taylor: Oh I see Laci didn't share with you all her latest love interest! Natalie: Love interest? Laci? What's goin' on? Laci: Nothin' Taylor: Oh now you want to hide it? You sure weren't tryin' to hide it that night at the movie theater. Laci: Taylor, just stop it. This is not the time or the place to have this conversation! Sheena: Will someone please tell me what the heck is goin' on? Taylor: Oh I'll tell you.....soror Laci over here stole my man, that's what! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Laray: Hey Krys...I need to talk to you....about the line..... Krystalyn: Yeah, Sy'Mone said they should be ready to cross in the next few weeks. Laray looks at her in silence. Krystalyn: What's wrong? Laray: Well.....it's about Joi. Krystalyn: What about that backstabbing trick? Laray: Well.......it seems that Sy'Mone had already sent all the paperwork of who was being initiated into nationals before Joi had the baby.... Krystalyn (screams): What? Laray: Yeah....so.... Krystalyn: I already know what that means! That means we have to cross her! Laray: Yeah, we do.... Krystalyn: I don't believe this! There has to be somethin' we can do! Laray: Not at this point. I mean the national office already called to follow up with us on the paperwork. And Soror Keisha said the Regional Director has been hounding her for a date. Krystalyn: There is no way I am goin' to be in the same chapter with her! Laray: Well Krys, it's startin' to look like you're not gonna have much of a choice. Silence Krystalyn: Of course there is one exception..... Laray: What? Krystalyn: What if Joi chose on her own not to be a part of the chapter? Laray: Why would she do that? Krystalyn: Well just because I have to be in the chapter with her doesn't mean I have to make it easy.... Laray: Krys.....what are you.... As Laray is talking, there is a knock at the door. Laray gets up to answer and is surprised to find Patrick on the other side. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Taylor: Oh now you want to hide it? You sure weren't tryin' to hide it that night at the movie theater. Laci: Taylor, just stop it. This is not the time or the place to have this conversation! Sheena: Will someone please tell me what the heck is goin' on? Taylor: Oh I'll tell you.....soror Laci over here stole my man, that's what! Natalie: Huh? Laci: Oh my gosh, Taylor! Will you just drop it please! Sheena: Now wait a minute sorors.....maybe we do need to work through this. We already have a small chapter. We don't need drama. We'll leave that for the AKA's. Everyone starts to laugh. Sheena: Well at least I got a laugh out of everyone. Now....Taylor....are you willing to talk about this? Taylor: I guess. Sheena: Laci? Laci (sighs deeply): Yeah, I guess so. Sheena: Okay fine. So which one of you wants to start? Taylor: I guess I will. Sheena: Okay fine, Taylor. You have the floor. Taylor: Well basically....long story short....Laci here started dating Kashawn knowing that we were tryin' to work things out. Laci: Kashawn was done with you and you know it. Taylor: So that gave you free reign to date him? Laci: Why not? Taylor: Are you really serious? I can't even believe you just asked me that! First of all, you lied to me about who you were seeing! And then I had to catch you out with him! If I hadn't rolled up on you that night, would you ever have told me? Laci: Um, yes. I think. I don't know. Taylor: I finally felt like I had a real friend on campus and then you go and do this! I can't believe you! You really hurt me, Laci. Laci: I'm sorry Taylor....I really am..... Taylor: So that means you're gonna end things with Kashawn? Laci looks around at everyone before answering. Taylor: Well..........does it? ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over in the Administration Building, Dr. Mwatsumi is working in his office. Romona buzzes his phone. Dr. Mwatsumi: Yes, Romona: Romona: Mona Ferguson is here to see you. Dr. Mwatsumi: I don't take walk in appointments. Romona: I realize that sir. She says it's an emergency. Dr. Mwatsumi (breathing deeply): Fine. Send her in. A few moments later, Mona walks into Dr. Mwatsumi's office. Before he can say hello, she plops down on one of the couches. Dr. Mwatsumi: Ms. Ferguson.... Mona: i see you've redecorated my mother's office. Dr. Mwatsumi: It's my office, now. Mona: Not for long. It's kinda like house sitting, you know? What you're doing.....you're just sorta house sitting my mom's office while she takes a much needed vacation.... Dr. Mwatsumi: Ms. Ferguson, is there something I can do for you? Mona: Well yes, actually there is. Dr. Mwatsumi: And what is that? I'm a very busy man and I typically don't see walk ins. So please Ms. Ferguson....tell me....what is it I can do for you? Mona: Give me my job back. Dr. Mwatsumi: That's impossible. Mona: No it's not. Dr. Mwatsumi: In fact, it is. I have already hired a replacement for you who has hit the ground runnin'. The students and the board of trustees are more than pleased with his perfomance so far... Mona: Oh yeah right. You just want someone that you can use as your little puppet. Dr. Mwatsumi: I have the full interest of Ahpla and her students at heart. I want someone who is capable of handling the position. Mona: I am the best Director of Greek Life this school has ever seen! Dr. Mwatsumi: Will that be all Ms. Ferguson? I do not have time to continue this back and forth with you. Especially when it's goin' no where. Mona: Oh it's goin' somewhere alright. But don't worry, Dr. Mawatsamuriyare......just as soon as my mother is back in office, she'll set things straigh. Just wait and see..... Mona gets up and angrily storms out of Dr. Mwatsumi's office. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 2 Continued... Laray: Krys.....what are you.... As Laray is talking, there is a knock at the door. Laray gets up to answer and is surprised to find Patrick on the other side. Patrick: What's up Laray. Laray: Oh um....hey... Patrick: Is Krys here? Laray: Yeah....but uh...I don't think she wants to see you. Krystalyn: Laray who is it? Patrick: Can you just tell her I'm here? Laray: Fine, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to talk to you, Pat. Laray closes the door and walks back into the room. Laray: It's Patrick. Krystalyn: What! What is he doin' here? Laray: He didn't say. He just asked me to let you know he was here. Krystalyn: I can't do this right now. Especially after all this Joi drama. I ....I just can't. Laray: You want me to tell him to leave? Krystalyn: Yes. No. I don't know. I mean....I'll do it. Krystalyn walks up to the front and opens the door. Patrick smiles. Krystalyn: Patrick, what do you want? Patrick: Wow, Krys....you look great. Krystalyn goes to close the door and Patrick puts his hand up. Patrick: Okay wait. I'm sorry. I came here on business. I need to know if the sorors are goin' to be able to participate in the tutoring program this year. Krystalyn: Excuse me? Patrick: The tutoring program. The one we did with the elementary schools last year... Krystalyn: I know exactly what you are talkin' about. What are you talkin' about? You could have called me for that. But you didn't. You came way over here out of your way to ask me about tutoring? I don't think so,Pat. I know you way better than that. So try again. What is it that you really want? ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 3 Continued... Dr. Mwatsumi buzzes his phone: Oh Romona! Romona: Yes, Dr. Mwatsumi? Dr. Mwatsumi: Could you please ask Sean to come to my office? Romona: Yes sir. Dr. Mwatsumi: Thank you, Romona. That will be all. A few mintues later, Sean comes breezing into Dr. Mwatsumi's office. Sean: Hello Doc! Dr. Mwatsumi: Hello, Sean. Have a seat. Sean sits down and Dr. Mwatsumi continues to type on his computer. Dr. Mwatsumi: I'm just finishing up a a few things here, Sean. Give me a moment. Sean: Yes, sir. Not a problem. After a few minutes, Dr. Mwatsumi looks up from his computer Dr. Mwatsumi: Sean, do you know why I called you into my office? Sean: No sir, I'm afraid I don't. Dr. Mwatsumi: If I am going to set myself apart as the next President of Ahpla, I need to make some drastic and radical changes....wouldn't you agree? Sean: Yes, sir. Dr. Mwatsumi: Good. Along with that, I need a team of people in place that are open to those changes. And Sean, I want you to be a part of that team. Permanently. Sean: Okay.... Dr. Mwatsumi: If Melinda Ferguson gets back into office as President....the first thing she's going to do is find a way to have you removed so she can put that incompetent daughter of hers back into her job. I'm sure you don't want that. Sean: No sir, I don't. Dr. Mwatsumi: I didn't think so. Sean, what I need for you to do is to help me assure that I stay in this office. Permanently. Sean: Sir? How would I do that? Dr. Mwatsumi: Well, I don't know. I do remember that you were pretty good at investigative work. I remember that from being on line. Sean: Mmm hmm.... Dr. Mwatsumi: That's all. Just use what you, my boy....use what you have....
