Season 2 - Episode 2 We resume our episode this week at the apartment of Natalie and Sheena. Natalie(knocking on Sheena’s door): Sheen! Sheen! You still sleepin’? Sheena (grumbling): Go away. Natalie: Sheen you okay? Sheena (still grumbling, but louder): I said go away! Natalie: Okay soror if you don’t open the door, I’m gonna break it down. Sheena: You’re not strong enough. Natalie: Well…….true……but…but…..my brother is….so I’ll get him to break it down. Sheena giggles Natalie: Was that a laugh I heard? Sheena: Maybe…. Sheena opens the door. Not looking like her normal well put together self, she is wearing some black pajama pants and one of her older DST shirts. Her hair is all over her head and she looks like she hasn’t slept at all. Natalie (looking surprised): Oh my gosh! Sheena are you okay? Sheena: Do I look that bad? Natalie: Well……..no…….I mean……..what is goin’ on? Sheena turns and goes and gets back into the bed and hides under the covers. Natalie follows her and sits on the edge of the bed. She begins to lightly rub Sheena’s back through the covers. Natalie: Soror, are you okay? What is it? Sheena: (without looking up at Natalie): I guess you haven’t heard huh? Natalie: Heard what? Sheena: About President Ferguson. Natalie: Oh yeah…….I did hear somethin’ like she was being suspended for a few months? Sheena: Yep. Natalie: Why? Do you know what happened? Sheena: I sure do. The Parent’s Council brought a charge against her. Natalie: But isn’t your mom the head of the council? Sheena: Yep. She was the one who filed the charge. Natalie: Oh no! A charge for what? A long pause Sheena: ….having an affair…..with my father. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ On campus, Kiaterria has just arrived at Jeff's apartment. Jeff (answering door): Hey baby! Kiaterria: Hey sweetie! Kiaterria leans in to give him a hug and a kiss before walking in the door. Jeff: I'm not quite ready yet. Kiaterria: What? And they always say the woman is the one who isn't ready on time! Jeff: I know! I'm sorry. I fell asleep earlier and I overslept. Kiaterria: Okay. Just don't take forever. The movie starts in forty five minutes! Jeff: Okay I'll hurry. Jeff rushes towards the back. Jeff (yelling from the bedroom): So what you been up to today? Kiaterria: Um, nothin' really. I tried to catch up with Kyle but he never called me back. He's been actin' so strange lately. Jeff: Baby? Kiaterria: Yes, honey? Jeff: I hate to break this to you....but your cousin acts strange all the time! Kiaterria: Jeff! Be nice! Jeff: What? I'm just sayin'! Kiaterria sits down on the couch and starts to flip through the channels while she waits for Jeff. After about ten minutes, she starts to get antsy and walks back towards the bedroom. Kiaterria: Jeff! What are you doin? It's time to go! Kiaterria walks into the bedroom and finds Jeff swallowing pills out of a prescription bottle. Kiaterria: Jeff! What...... Jeff looks over and is surprised that KIaterria is standing there. Kiaterria: Jeff........what..........what are you doin'? ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Natalie: Oh no! A charge for what? A long pause Sheena: ….having an affair……..with my father. Natalie: What? Sheena: Please don’t make me repeat it. Natalie: Oh my gosh………Sheen! Why didn’t you tell me? Sheena: I’m not exactly proud of it. Natalie: Well I know but…….oh my gosh….are you okay? Sheena: No! Sheena puts her head into her pillow and begins to cry. Sheena: My parent’s are getting’ a divorce! Natalie: Oh Sheen….. Sheena: I just don’t understand. How could he do this to my mom? To our family? Natalie: Have you talked to him yet? Sheena: No. I have nothin’ to say to him. Natalie: Sheen, I know you’re pissed but he’s still your dad. You have to talk to him. Sheena: I know but….I’m just not ready…. Natalie: How’s your mom holdin’ up? Sheena: Not good. She called me over there one night talkin’ about he was gonna die soon. I think she’s loosing it. I’m tryin’ to get her to take a vacation or somethin’. Natalie: That’s a great idea. Maybe you should go with her. Sheena: I can’t. Not this far into the semester. Natalie leans down to hug Sheena. Natalie: Aww Soror….you seem so sad. I wish there was somethin’ I could do. Sheena: I know. Thanks, Nat. Just you talkin’ to me is enough. In the background, there is a faint knock. Sheena: Did you hear that? Natalie: Hear what? Sheena: Hmm. I guess not. The faint knock comes a little harder this time. Sheena: Okay I know I hear somethin’. Natalie: Yeah I heard it that time, too. I think somebody is at the door. Sheena: If it’s for me, I’m not home. Natalie smiles: Okay. Natalie starts to walk towards the door when the knock comes again. Natalie(In a loud voice): Hold on! I’m comin’! Natalie opens the door to find Joseph on the other side. Natalie: Oh! Dr. Davenport! Hi. Joseph: Hello Natalie. Is Sheena still asleep? I’ve been trying to reach her by phone all week. I really need to talk to her. It’s urgent. Could you please tell her that her father is here to see her? ______________________________________________________________________________________________ At the Omega Psi Phi house, Kyle is downstairs, sitting alone in the dark. Armani walks into the room and turns on the light. Armani: Roo! Kyle: Sup. Armani: What's up dawg! Where you been! Kyle: I been around. Armani: I haven't seen you in days! What's up? Kyle: Nothing. Armani: Bruh! What is wrong with you? Kyle: I'm cool. Armani: You sure, dawg? You been actin' kinda strange lately. Kyle: I'm straight. Kyle gets up and walks towards the steps. Armani: Wait a minute dawg! Where you goin? Kyle: To my room. I wanna be by myself. Armani: Alright.... Kyle goes upstairs to his room and closes the door. He sits on the side of the bed and takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. The scene from the doctor's office keeps playing over and over in his mind. Kyle thinks: I can't be HIV positive. I don't feel sick. Kyle breathes deeply and lays back on his bed. Kyle thinks: Now I gotta tell Karissa and Stasha. Not Stasha....that's my baby....she'll hate me....she can't leave me. We always used protection so maybe she's okay....maybe I don't have to tell her....no that's stupid, Kyle....of course you have to tell her....oh why did I sleep with nasty Karissa? How could I be so stupid! Kyle's thoughts are interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He looks down to see it's Stasha calling.... ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 2 Continued... Kiaterria walks into the bedroom and finds Jeff swallowing pills out of a prescription bottle. Kiaterria: Jeff! What...... Jeff looks over and is surprised that KIaterria is standing there. Kiaterria: Jeff........what..........what are you doin'? Jeff: Uh...nothin'. Why you sneakin' up on me! Kiaterria: What? I wasn't....I just wanted to see if you were...... Jeff: Well I'm not, ok! I told you I was almost done and I'd be out when I was! Kiaterria: Why are you yellin' at me? Jeff: I'm not yellin'! Kiaterria walks over and grabs the prescription bottle out of his hand. Kiaterria: Jeff, what is this? What are you takin'? Jeff: I told you! The team doctor prescribed a painkiller for me. Kiaterria: Jeff, that was months ago! Why are you still takin' this? Jeff: Because I need it! Kiaterria: Are you still in pain? Kiaterria reaches over to grab Jeff's shoulder and he shrugs her off. Jeff: Sometimes. Sometimes, okay. Kiaterria: How many of these are you takin' a day? Jeff: I don't know. Kiaterria:You don't know? You don't know? Is that because you are takin' so many that you can't keep count? Jeff: I said I don't know okay! Why don't you just get off my freakin' back! Kiaterria: Jeff, I'm not on your back! I'm worried about you! Jeff: Well don't. I already have one mother and I don't need another one! Jeff storms out of the room and leaves Kiaterria standing in the bedroom alone. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 3 Continued.... Kyle thinks: Now I gotta tell Karissa and Stasha. Not Stasha....that's my baby....she'll hate me....she can't leave me. How could I be so stupid! Kyle's thoughts are interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He looks down to see it's Stasha calling.... Kyle picks up the phone. Kyle: Hey. Stasha: Hey baby! Silence Stasha: You busy? Kyle: No. Stasha: You sleepin'? Kyle: No. Stasha: Okay....... Silence Stasha: Well I was callin' to see if you wanted to dinner later on tonight. Kyle: I'm not hungry. Stasha: Okay well you wanna take a walk instead? Kyle: I'm tired. Stasha: Kyle is somethin' wrong? Kyle: No. Why would you say that? Stasha: Because you're actin' strange and you don't want to see me. You keep givin' me all these one word answers. It's just not like you. Kyle: I'm fine. I just need some space. Stasha: What? What do you mean by space? You're breakin' up with me? Kyle: No, Stasha, of course not. I just.....I have a lot goin' on and I need a little room to think, that's all. It has nothin' to do with you, okay? Stasha: Are you sure? Kyle: I'm positive. Stasha: I'm a little worried about you, Kyle. Kyle: Don't be. Stasha: Kyle... Kyle: Stasha, please....I'll call you tomorrow, okay? Stasha: Okay.... Silence Stasha: I love you, Kyle. Kyle: Love you too. Bye. Kyle hangs up the phone and throws it to the floor. He puts a pillow over his face and begins to scream. He gets up and goes and sits down at his computer desk and turns on his laptop. He logs into his email and finds an email from Karissa.
