Season 2 - Episode 27 We resume our episode this week with the neophytes of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Tierra walks out of her bedroom into the front room wearing a pink halter top, a black skirt and heels. Tierra: Sorors! How do I look? Melanie: Skeeeeeeeeeeeeee Wee! Chandra: Soror! You are lookin' very pretty in your pink! Tierra: Thanks, sorors! I really want to make a good impression. Melanie: Well, if he doesn't like that, he is crazy! Tierra: Thanks! Chandra: What time is he supposed to be here? Tierra looks at her watch. Tierra: He should be here in another twenty minutes. Melanie: I still can't figure out who you are talkin' about. Chandra: Marcellus! The fine one who is in charge of the campus ministry. Tierra: Pull up the campus ministry page on facebook. I'm sure there's a picture of him on there. Chandra: Oh good idea! Chandra pulls out her laptop and begins to log on. Chandra: Here he is! Melanie and Tierra run over to look over Chandra's shoulder. Melanie: Oh him! Oh soror........he is fine! Tierra begins to blush Tierra: You think so? Melanie: Heck yeah! You go soror! Chandra: Yeah...but....he's a minister..... Tierra: So what? Chandra: So....is he gonna be tryin' to act all Holy or whatever on the date? Tierra: Well we kinda went out one time before and he was actin' normal. I don't see why tonight would be any different.... Chandra: I guess. I couldn't do it..... Melanie: And neither could he, heathen! Tierra and Melanie start to laugh. The doorbell ringin interrupts their laughter.... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Melinda Ferguson, who is driving to a restaurant and has just pulled out her cell phone to dial a number... Joseph: Hey.... Melinda: Hey Joe. Joseph: How are you? Melinda: Ehh, I've been better. Joseph: What's wrong? Melinda: The better question...is what's right? Joseph: I guess that means your weekend with Val didn't go well. Melinda: It was a disaster. Joseph: What happened? Melinda: Well for one thing....we argued the entire time.... Joseph: Really? Melinda sighs: Yeah.... Joseph: About what? Melinda: Well for one thing...the whole Mona situation, which she insists I knew about before hand.... Joseph: Oh she should know better than that! Melinda: You would think so. We also argued about you. Joseph: About me? What about me? Melinda: I told her we were talking again. Joseph: I figured that wouldn't go over too well.....I guess she really got upset when you told her we were back together.... ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... The doorbell ringin interrupts their laughter.... Tierra walks over and opens the door to find Marcellus standing on the other side with a single long stemmed pink rose. Marcellus: Hey girl.....wow...you look wonderful! Tierra: I do? Well thanks....you look nice too. Marcellus: Thanks. Tierra: Did you want to come in for a second? Marcellus: Sure. Marcellus steps in and sees Chandra and Melanie sitting on the couch. Marcellus: Ladies... Chandra and Melanie: Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.............. Marcellus turns toward Tierra. Marcellus: I brought this for you. Marcellus hands Tierra the rose. Tierra: Thanks, Marcellus. That was so thoughtful. Let me put this in some water and I'll be ready to go. Marcellus: Cool. As Tierra begins to walk off, Marcellus' cell phone begins to ring. Marcellus: I'll just step outside for a second to take this. Tierra: Okay... Marcellus steps outside and answers his phone. Marcellus (whispering): Hello? I told you not to call me tonight.....yeah, I know....but....I have plans...I really can't......yeah.....yeah.....alright fine. I'll see you in twenty minutes. Marcellus hangs up the phone just as Tierra is stepping outside. Marcellus: Tierra, I have bad news. I'm gonna have to get a rain check on our date. I'm really sorry. I wish I could explain but...I....I have to go. Marcellus gives a stunned Tierra a quick kiss on the cheek before turning and quickly exiting down the stairs..... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at Kashawn's apartment, Taylor has just arrived. Kashawn: Hey baby... Taylor smiles Taylor: Hey.... Taylor walks in and puts her arms around Kashawn and gives him a big hug and a kiss. She walks in past him as he closes the door behind her and takes a seat on the couch. Taylor: What's up....what are you doin'? Kashawn: Nothin'. Goin' over a little frat business but it can wait until later. Taylor: Awww...you're so sweet. Kashawn: I just wanna give you my undivided attention. I don't want to screw things up like I did last time. Taylor: Well, I think we both had a hand in screwin' things up. Kashawn: Yeah well none of that matters now. Taylor: That's right! Fresh start, right? Kashawn: Right. Taylor: No hiding this time. Kashawn: No hiding. Taylor: No secret dating. Kashawn: Nope. Out in the open. I want everyone to know that you're the woman I love. Taylor: Awww.....Shawn..... Kashawn: Hey I talked to my mom. Taylor: Mmmm hmmm..... Kashawn: And she's really lookin' forward to meetin' you next weekend. Taylor: I can't wait to meet her either. Kashawn: Things are really gonna be different this time, baby. Just wait and see.... Taylor: I know. Things are already different. There's only one thing left that we need to take care of. We also argued about you. Joseph: About me? What about me? Melinda: I told her we were talking again. Joseph: I figured that wouldn't go over too well.....I guess she really got upset when you told her we were back together.... Silence Joseph: Hello? Melinda: I'm here.... Joseph: I thought you had hung up on me! Melinda: No. I...I just didn't realize we were back...together.... Joseph: Oh well...uh...you know what I mean.... Melinda: No, I don't....what exactly do you mean? Joseph: Linda, come on. You already know how I feel about you....and once this stuff with Carsen is worked out.... Melinda: Speaking of Carsen....she's another reason the weekend didn't go so well. Joseph: Huh? Melinda: Yep. She just showed up unexpectedly at Val's. Joseph: Are you serious? Melinda: Yup. Talk about uncomfortable. All she did was try to start crap with me. Joseph: I'm sorry. What did you do? Melinda: I left! I just got up and left! Val's been tryin' to call me ever since but I haven't picked up. I mean I know it wasn't her fault, but I...I just can't talk to her right now. Everything is so complicated. Joseph: I really wish you'd reconsider coming out here with me for a few weeks. I think the change of scenery would really do you some good. Melinda: Believe me. I would if I could. But I can't go anywhere until I get this Mona mess straightened out. As a matter of fact, I'm here so I have to go. I'll call you later. Joseph: Okay. Hey Linda....I'm always here. Whenever you need to talk. Melinda: I know. I'll talk to you later. Joseph; Hey wait...before you hang up.... Melinda: Yes? Joseph: I love you, Lindy. Melinda hesitates. Melinda: I love you too, Joe. I'll call you later. Melinda hangs up the phone and gets out of the car to walk into the restaurant. She looks around and does not spot her dining companion. Her cell phone rings and she sees that it is Soror Covell. Melinda: Hello? Soror Covell? Soror Covell: Hello Soror Ferguson! I'm sorry I'm running a little behind but I'm on my way! Melinda: Okay, wonderful. I'll get us a table. Melinda turns around and is surprised to see Mona standing there. Melinda: Mona? Mona: Hello Mother. Melinda: What are you doin' here? Mona: I'm here for the meetin' with Soror Covell. I got some voice message asking me to meet you two here. All I know is she better have a good reason for draggin' me out here to the middle of nowhere or I'll be givin' here a piece of my mind when she gets here! _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 3 Continued.... Kashawn: Things are really gonna be different this time, baby. Just wait and see.... Taylor: I know. Things are already different. There's only one thing left that we need to take care of. Kashawn: What's that? Taylor: Laci! Kashawn: Yeah, I know... Taylor: You know? Kashawn: I said I know, Taylor! Taylor: Yeah, I heard you Kashawn, but when are you plannin' to actually do something about it? Kashawn: I'll tell her. Soon. I promise. Taylor: Look, it's bad enough that we're sorority sisters.......if you wait, it's only goin' to make things worse. Kashawn: I will tell her, Taylor. You don't have anything to worry about this time. I'm takin' you home to meet my mama, girl! I'm going to tell her! Taylor: Okay.... Kashawn kisses Taylor on the forehead. Kashawn: Don't worry, baby. I will tell her this week. I promise to you. Taylor: I believe you. Kashawn: Good. Now that we got that settled, I'm starving! Taylor: Me too. Want me to cook? Kashawn: You know....all of a sudden, I'm not really that hungry anymore... Taylor: You are terrible! I'm not that bad of a cook, am I? Kashawn looks away and starts to laugh. Taylor: Fine! Would you like to order in? Kashawn: Now that's more like it. Matter of fact, let's go out. Like a celebration dinner type thing... Taylor: But I'm not dressed for it! Kashawn: You look beautiful. Come on, let's go! You always said I wasn't spontaneous enough. Taylor: Okay, why not. Kashawn and Taylor get up to go outside. As Kashawn opens the door, Taylor looks up and is surprised to see that she almost walks directly into Laci.....and Natalie.....
