We resume our episode this week at the home of Carsen Davenport, where her Joseph has just arrived.
Carsen: I wasn’t expecting you.
Joseph: I know.
Carsen: Would you like to have a seat?
Joseph: Thanks.
Carsen: So what brings you by?
Joseph: I think you know.
Carsen: I’m sorry. I have no idea what you are referring to.
Joseph: Carsen, we’ve been married long enough for me to know when you’re playing dumb.
Silence
Joseph: My lawyer said you have decided to contest the divorce.
Carsen: Yes, I did.
Joseph: Can I ask why?
Carsen: My lawyer asked me if we had tried to really work things out. And I thought about it…..maybe we didn’t.
Joseph: Carsen, what are you saying?
Carsen: I’m saying, we need to talk. Is this what we really want? Is this what you really want?

Over at the AKA house, Kennedy and Tierra are talking about Tierra's date with Marcellus.
Kennedy: She did what?
Tierra: You heard me, soror!
Kennedy: You have got to be kidding me!
Tierra: I wish I was.
Kennedy: I can’t even believe that!
Tierra: I was humiliated. I mean imagine I’m on a first date with this guy and this girl comes to the table screaming at us!
Kennedy: Were people looking?
Tierra: Of course they were!
Kennedy: What did he do?
Tierra: He got so serious, Kennedy! Told her to get away from our table and that it wasn’t the time or place!
Kennedy: And then what?
Tierra: Then he was ready to go. That was it. Date over.
Kennedy: Who was she?
Tierra: That’s the thing. He wouldn’t say.
Kennedy: Wow, soror. These men are crazy!
Tierra: Yes! And he seems so nice. He’s a minister!
Kennedy: What does that mean?
Tierra: I really liked him….
Kennedy: I don’t know, soror. I think you might wanna run while you can. He seems to have too much drama….
Just then Tierra’s cell phone starts to ring. Tierra looks down at her phone and then back up at Kennedy.
Tierra: You’re not gonna believe this one….
Kennedy: What?
Tierra: That’s HIM calling!

Scene 1 Continued...
Carsen: My lawyer asked me if we had tried to really work things out. And I thought about it…..maybe we didn’t.
Joseph: Carsen, what are you saying?
Carsen: I’m saying, we need to talk. Is this what we really want? Is this what you really want?
Joseph: Carsen, what is this all about?
Carsen: Joe, we’ve shared an entire lifetime together. I just think that a life of love, marriage, children…it’s not something that should just be decided on the way we did.
Joseph: I’m not negating what we had, Carsen. We did have a nice life together.
Carsen: So why does it have to be over? Why can’t we continue it?
Joseph: Carsen…..things are different now.
Carsen: You mean Melinda? I….I really think I can work through that with you, Joe. I mean it will take some counseling and some work, but I really believe we can get through this…..
Silence
Carsen: Why aren’t you saying anything?
Joseph: Because I honestly don’t know what to say. I wasn’t expecting this.
Carsen: Do you still love me?
Joseph: Carsen….I will always have a love for you. You’re the mother of my children.
Carsen: Joe, I still love you.
Joseph: Carsen, it’s not that simple.
Carsen: Why can’t it be? When did things get so complicated? I love you and you love me. Why can’t it just be that simple?
Joseph: Because….I’m….I’m in love with someone else…..
Carsen: Who? Melinda? You don’t mean that. You’re not even together anymore! It was just a silly affair and the sooner we put it behind us, the better…..
Joseph: That’s the thing, Carsen. We’re getting back together and…..Melinda and I made a very important decision about our relationship this past weekend….

Over at the administration building, Dr. Mwatsumi is showing his new employee, Jay around the building.
Dr. Mwatsumi: So as you can see, we have a cozy little building here. It's not much, but it's enough for us. I hope you'll be able to make yourself at home.
Jay: Absolutely, Dr. Mwatsumi. I'm very excited about this position!
Dr. Mwatsumi: I'm glad to hear that, Jay. We're just as excited to have you aboard.
Jay: I have a ton of ideas that I want to do to improve my area.
Dr. Mwatsumi: That's what I like to hear, Jay. I love to have people who can come in and hit the ground running.
Jay: Sounds like we're gonna get along great. I have to ask you though....do you think Dr. Ferguson will be okay with me?
Dr. Mwatsumi stops walking to look Jay in his eye.
Dr. Mwatsumi: Dr. Ferguson? Why would you be bringing her up?
Jay: Well..........isn't she supposed to be coming back from her suspension soon?
Dr. Mwatsumi: Where did you hear that?
Jay: Oh well....I'm sorry if I spoke out of turn, it's just....
Dr. Mwatsumi: Now listen, Jay....don't you worry about Dr. Ferguson. I'll be the only person you'll be working for....
Jay: Oh. Okay.
Dr. Mwatsumi: Now, do you have any questions about anything?
Jay: No, not so far. You've been pretty thorough.
Dr. Mwatsumi: Okay great. What I want to do now is have you go and get your office set up. Get settled and try to get aquatinted with your space. Then take a lunch, and then when you return, I want you to shadow Sean for the afternoon...
Jay: Oh. Sean?
Dr. Mwatsumi: Yes. You may not remember him from the interview. He's the young man who is the Director of Greek Life.
Jay: Oh um, yeah....I remember now....
Dr. Mwatsumi: Great. He's my protege! I hope the two of you will get along well.
Jay: I have a feeling we'll get along just fine.....

Tierra: I really liked him….
Kennedy: I don’t know, soror. I think you might wanna run while you can. He seems to have too much drama….
Just then Tierra’s cell phone starts to ring. Tierra looks down at her phone and then back up at Kennedy.
Tierra: You’re not gonna believe this one….
Kennedy: What?
Tierra: That’s HIM calling!
Kennedy: Don’t answer!
Tierra: I’m not.
Tierra presses the ignore button.
Kennedy: Girl, I’m serious. He has too much drama. You need to leave him alone.
Tierra: Yeah, I know. I guess I’m just tired of not havin’ any dates.
Kennedy: Oh that will change.
Tierra: How so?
Kennedy: Because now that you’re a woman of Alllllllllpha Kappa Alllllllpha, the fellas will come runnin’!
Tierra laughs
Kennedy: I’m serious, neo. Men love AKA’s.
Tierra: Yeah, well we’ll see…..anyway, I gotta get out of her. I have a test I need to study for.
Kennedy: Okay pretty girl! Skee you later.
Tierra: Yep. I’ll call you later this week.
Tierra gets up and grabs her purse and heads toward her car. Once she gets in her car, her cell phone begins to ring again. She looks again to see that it is Marcellus calling. Tierra takes a deep breath before answering the phone.
Tierra: Hello?
Marcellus: Hey. Tee?
Tierra: Yeah, it’s me.
Marcellus: It’s Marcellus.
Tierra: I know.
Marcellus: I guess I have some explaining to do, huh?
Tierra: Marcellus, what do you want?
Marcellus: I want to explain what happened the other night…..

Scene 3 Continued...
Jay: Knock Knock.
Sean looks up from his computer to find Jay standing in the door frame. An easy smile creeps across his face.
Sean: Hey you. What are you doing here?
Jay: Dr. Mwatsumi wants me to shadow you for the afternoon.
Sean: Lucky me.
Jay: You better be careful talking like that. Someone could hear you.
Sean: Then I guess you better get in here and close the door.
Jay walks in and closes the door behind him. He looks around at Sean's office.
Sean: What do you think?
Jay: About what?
Sean: About everything so far.
Jay: So far, so good. I think I'll like it.
Sean: Ahpla is an awesome place to work. Dr. Mwatsumi is great.
Jay: Oh yea, he told me you were his protege...
Sean: He said that?
Jay: Yep.
Sean: You look really great today, Jay.
Jay: You think so?
Sean: I know so. In fact, I'm having a really hard time keeping my hands off of you right now....
Jay smiles and walks over to Sean's desk. He playfully pretends to drop a piece of paper on the floor and takes his time picking it up. Sean lightly grazes his hand across Jay's backside and Jay laughs and turns and winks at Sean. Outside of Sean's office, Romona has come to bring Sean a fax and is standing in shock at what she has just seen through the small side panel window that Sean has forgotten is open.....
