Season 2 - Episode 37

We resume our episode this week with Tierra who is in her dorm room, getting dressed when there is a knock on her door.

Tierra: Hey soror!

Melanie: Pretty girl!

Tierra: What are you doin' here?

Melanie: Oh I was over here, dropping something off to Ebony for our group project. I thought I'd stop by to see how my sands was doin'.

Tierra: Awww! Sands! I still can't believe we're AKA's!

Melanie: I know right.....hey.....you look pretty nice to be sittin' around your room.

Tierra: Well thanks, soror! You know how we do! We keep it pretty!

Melanie puts her pinky up in agreement.

Melanie: So where are you goin'? Or where are you just gettin' in from?

Tierra: I have a date!

Melanie: Really? Girl with who? That's good! I'm glad you moved on from Marcellus!

Silence

Melanie: Tierra?

Tierra: Hmm?

Melanie: Who you goin' out with, girl? Anybody I know?

Tierra: Well actually......it is Marcellus.....

Melanie: What? After all that crap he put you through?

Tierra: Yeah, but he explained and everything is cool now.

Melanie: Well what was his problem, anyway? Cause he was trippin!

Tierra: I....I can't say......

Melanie: Why not?

Tierra: Because he told me not to. It's private.

Melanie: But I'm your sands! I thought we didn't keep secrets from each other. I won't tell anyone! Now spill it girl.....what's the big mystery?

Over in the library, Jovan is in one of the private rooms, waiting to meet with Mona.....

Mona: Well hello, Jovan....

Jovan: Hey, Mona, what's up.

Mona: Nothing, really. I don't have a lot of time, though, so let's make this quick.

Jovan: Fine.

Mona: You seem a little testy today.

Jovan: Not testy, just tired. I haven't gotten much sleep lately. Zion's been sick.

Mona: Oh, I see. I heard you're girlfriend crossed Zeta. You must be excited.

Jovan: Yeah, she's happy.

Mona: Interesting.....

Jovan: So what's up?

Mona: Well I wanted to give you an update on the project I need help with....

Jovan: Oh yeah, about that....

Mona: About what?

Jovan: Well I talked to some of the bros and.....they're not really sure they want to do....

Mona: Now just hold it right there, Jovan. I bent over backwards to help the Alpha's just a short while ago, or have you forgotten? Because just as easily as I got you out of trouble, I can just as easily get you into some trouble.

Silence

Mona: Understand?

Jovan: Yeah, sure.

Mona: Very good. Now like I said.....once the chapter has helped me to get my mother's position and mine back......we'll call it even.....until then, don't even think about crossing me.....

Scene 1 Continued...

Melanie: Well what was his problem, anyway? Cause he was trippin!

Tierra: I....I can't say......

Melanie: Why not?

Tierra: Because he told me not to. It's private.

Melanie: But I'm your sands! I thought we didn't keep secrets from each other. I won't tell anyone! Now spill it girl.....what's the big mystery?

Tierra: Well...he...uh.....

Silence

Tierra: I'm sorry, Mel....I can't.

Melanie: Wow. You must really like him.

Tierra: I do. I think this could really be special.....

Melanie: What time is coming over?

Just then, there is a knock on the door.

Tierra: That should be him!

Tierra runs over and opens the door to find Marcellus on the other side.

Marcellus: Beautiful!

Tierra: Hey handsome.....

Melanie walks up and walks past Tierra to leave.

Melanie: Bye soror! Hi Marcellus! Bye Marcellus!

Marcellus: Bye, Melanie.

Marcellus walks into the room and Tierra closes the door behind him.

Tierra: So what are we doing tonight?

Marcellus: It was a surprise, but I guess I'll go ahead and tell you....I want you to meet my son....

Over at the administration building, Sean is in the middle of a meeting....

Sean: So I'm glad you came to talk to me, wherever you want to start is fine...

Lashonda: Well......basically......myself and two other people were pledging....or well we thought we were pledging Alpha Kappa Alpha, only to discover it was a fake, undercover line.

Sean begins writing on a notepad.

Sean: Okay, you said yourself and two others. Who were the other two?

Lashonda: Denitra and Tierra.....

Sean: Tierra? Tierra? Isn't she one of the new AKA's?

Lashonda: Yes.

Sean: I'm confused.

Lashonda: Well halfway into the process, Tierra dropped and ended up going to the rush for the real AKA line...

Sean: Oh, I see. And did Tierra try to warn you and Lashonda?

Lashonda: She did....but we didn't listen.....we trusted the dean of our line......

Sean: Yes, I was just getting to that part.....who exactly was in charge of this line?

Lashonda: Mona.

Sean: Mona? Mona who? Not....

Lashonda: Yes, Mona Ferguson....

Scene 2....

Over in the library, Jovan is collecting his things to leave the library.....

Krystalyn: Jovan?

Jovan turns to see Krystalyn walking by.

Jovan: Hey what's up Krys!

Krystalyn: What are you doin' here?

Jovan: Excuse me? This it the library and I'm in school right?

Krystalyn laughs

Krystalyn: You know what I mean!

Jovan: Sorry. I just had a meeting and I'm a little ticked off afterwards.

Krystalyn: Wow. Who has you so upset?

Jovan: Ehh....

Krystalyn: You can trust me....

Jovan: Mona.

Krystalyn: Ugh.

Jovan: What does that mean?

Krystalyn: I can't stand her!

Jovan: Really?

Krystalyn: Really! Stuck up AKA! No offense, I know those are your sisters and all....

Jovan: No offense taken. And believe me, Mona is no sister of mine.

Krystalyn: You want me to beat her up?

Jovan laughs

Jovan: I'll be alright.

Krystalyn: Okay. Just let me know cause you know you my boy!

Jovan: Oh am I?

Krystalyn: Of course! You and I go back to freshman year. We were in the same orientation group. You don't remember?

Jovan: Oh yeah........I forgot all about that.....

Krystalyn: Oh I see how it is. Just forget all about me.

Jovan: Somehow I find it hard to believe that anyone could forget about you.....

Scene 3 Continued...

Sean: Yes, I was just getting to that part.....who exactly was in charge of this line?

Lashonda: Mona.

Sean: Mona? Mona who? Not....

Lashonda: Yes, Mona Ferguson....

Sean: Wow. This is serious. And this was when she was serving as the Director of Greek life?

Lashonda: Yes.

Sean: This could have some serious implications.

Lashonda: Good.

Sean: I fully intend to take this investigation further, but you have to know it's going to be a long process.

Lashonda: I don't care. I want her to go down.

Sean: Okay. Now as far as Denitra....

Lashonda: She transferred to one of our sister schools. She won't be back until next semester.

Sean: Okay. Now I will need to get a statement from her as well. Do you have any contact information for her?

Lashonda: Yes, I do. I can email that to you when I get back to my room.

Sean: Okay, great. This was great information. It's a good starting point for me. I need to meet with Dr. Mwatsumi and then once I get Denitra's statement, I'll be able to move on from there.

Lashonda: Thanks, Sean.

Sean: Is there anything else?

Lashonda: No, not now.

Sean: Great. I know this was tough, so I really appreciate you coming to talk to me. Thank you for trusting me with this, Lashonda.

Lashonda: Thank you, Sean.

Sean: Okay well if we're done, I'll walk you out.

Lashonda gets up and grabs her purse. Sean walks behind her and opens the door. He follows her into the waiting area, where Jay is standing. Sean smiles at the sight of Jay....and then his smile quickly fades away when he sees a slender woman with a short haircut standing beside him.

Jay: Oh Sean....hey....

Sean: Jay....

Jay turns to the woman beside him.

Jay: Honey, this is Sean, one of my new co-workers. Sean, this....this is my wife.....
