Season 2 - Episode 38 We resume our episode this week with Shakir who is relaxing in his dorm room with a girl he just met named Gloria from Amgis University.... Shakir: Thanks for coming over. Gloria: Thanks for inviting me... Shakir: We been tryin' to do this for a long time, huh? Gloria: Well you definitely know I been feelin' you for a minute. Shakir: That's what's up. Gloria: so what made you call me now? Shakir: I was cleanin' up the spot and came across your number. Gloria: Oh. Lucky me.... Shakir: What is that supposed to mean? Gloria: Nothin'. I'm just happy you called. Shakir: That's cool. Gloria: I thought you had a girlfriend. Where is she? Shakir: What girlfriend? Gloria: Whatever, Shakir. You don't have to play me. I know you mess with some SGRho girl.....I don't care....she ain't my girlfriend. You ain't gotta lie. Shakir: I said I ain't got a girlfriend, okay? Gloria: Okay. I don't wanna talk about her anyway. Shakir: Oh yeah? What you wanna talk about then? Gloria: I wanna talk about you.... Just then Shakir's phone ring. He looks down and sees that it is Karissa calling..... ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at Sheena and Natalie's apartment, the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta have gathered for a meeting. Natalie: Okay sorors, we really need to nail down some specifics if we're going to do this process..... Sheena: I agree. Laci: When are we going to do the rush? Sheena: I called the Student Activities Center and they have some rooms open next Thursday night. I think we should do it then. Natalie: Sounds good to me. Is everyone okay with that? Sheena and Laci agree. Taylor sits in silence. Natalie: Taylor? Taylor: Yes? Natalie: What do you think? Taylor: Oh you mean someone actually cares what I think now? Natalie: Here we go with that crap. Look soror, outside of here, no your opinion doesn't matter to me, but inside the meeting, you need to vote, okay? Sheena: Whoa, whoa! Settle down, sorors.... Taylor: I'm settled. Sheena: Taylor, next Thursday or not? Taylor: That's fine. Sheena: Okay great. I'll go ahead and book that. Natalie: Okay we need to get some fliers up ASAP. LIke tomorrow.... Laci: I can work on them tonight and get them approved by Sean first thing in the morning. Natalie: Cool. Thanks, soror. And of course, we all know there are certain people that need to be invited by one of us. Just then there is a knock on the door. Natalie gets up to answer. Natalie: Oh...Soror Davenport......hi.... ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Shakir: Oh yeah? What you wanna talk about then? Gloria: I wanna talk about you.... Just then Shakir's phone ring. He looks down and sees that it is Karissa calling......Shakir presses the ignore button and continues.... Shakir: Oh yeah....so what you wanna know? Shakir's phone starts to ring again. Gloria: Do you need to take that? Shakir: No, I'm good. Gloria: Whoever it is sure wants to get ahold of you. Shakir: Yeah....right. Gloria: So what did you invite me over for, Shakir? Shakir: What do you mean? Gloria: I mean, what did you want me to come over for? Shakir: So we could chill, kick it....get to know each other a little better....that's all.... Gloria: Oh really? And how do you propose we do that? Shakir: I have a few ideas... Shakir leans in and begins to kiss Gloria. Gloria tenses up, but after a few seconds she begins to relax and leans back onto the bed. Shakir begins to unbutton Gloria's shirt, just as someone starts knocking on his door. Shakir: Who the heck is that? Oh forget it. They'll have to come back later. The knocking gets louder and Karissa starts to yell through the door from the other side. Karissa: Shakir! Shakir! Open the door, Shakir! I know your here! And I'm not leaving until you do! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at the home of Melinda Ferguson, she is in her bedroom putting the finishing touches on her makeup, when Joseph Davenport comes out of the bathroom from the shower in just a towel.... Joseph: You look amazing. Melinda turns to face him and looks him up and down. Melinda: So do you.... Melinda starts to giggle. Joseph: Alright now! Keep talking like that girl and you gonna be late for your meeting with Dr. Vines. Melinda sighs deeply. Melinda: So I look okay? Really? This meeting is very important. Joseph: I know sweetie. And yes, you look wonderful. You'll do fine. Are you sure you don't want me to come along? Melinda: No, you better not. I mean.....we're not married so overall, it just wouldn't look right, you know? Plus, our affair is the reason I'm in this mess to begin with! Joseph: Yeah, I know. Melinda: At least until your divorce is final, I just think.... Joseph: Shh....you don't have to explain. I get it. I still wish you'd reconsider moving in with me, though.... Melinda: Joe..... Joseph: I know, I know. Melinda: Okay, I better get going. I don't want to be late. Joseph: Okay. Call me when your done. I have a lot of appointments this afternoon so if I don't pick right up, I'll call you when I can. Melinda: Thanks, sweetie. Melinda gives Joseph a quick kiss before heading out to meet with Dr. Vines, the president of the board of trustees.... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 2 continued... Carsen: Hello Natalie. Natalie: Come on in. Natalie steps to the side and allows Carsen to enter the apartment. Sheena: Mom! Carsen: Hi baby. Hi sorors! Laci and Taylor: Hi Soror Davenport! Sheena: Mom, I thought you said you weren't going to make the meeting. Carsen: Yeah, I didn't think so either, but I had to free my schedule up to come and speak with you all. Sheena: Is something wrong? Carsen: Well not exactly..... Natalie: What is it, soror? Carsen: It's about the process that you're about to start. Natalie: Oh no. Is it not going to be approved? Carsen: Oh no, that's not it. That's all taken care of. It's about the line itself.......I don't care who makes the line or doesn't make the line....but Lashonda Edwards.... Laci: Who? Sheena: Mommy isn't that Soror Val's daughter? The one who was on the fake AKA line? Over at the Ahlpa Cavalier Restaurant, Melinda Ferguson arrives for her lunch meeting with Dr. Vines. Hostess: Good afternoon....can I help you....oh hello Dr. Ferguson! I haven't seen you in months! How are you? Melinda: Oh I'm great, Amelia. It's good to see you as well. Has Dr. Vines arrived yet? That's who I'm meeting for lunch. Hostess: Oh yes, he is. We just seated him. He's right over by the window. Melinda: Ahh yes, I see him. Thanks, Amelia. Always great to see you. You doing well in your studies this semester? Hostess: Yes, ma'am. Melinda: Good girl. We'll chat later, okay? Melinda walks toward the table where Dr. Vines is seated. Dr. Vines: Dr. Ferguson! Hello! Melinda: Hello, Dr. Vines. Dr. Vines stands and extends his hand to greet Melinda. Dr. Vines: So Melinda....how have you been? Melinda: Great! I've had a few months to rest. I had a chance to do a little traveling, reading, I got to visit with my daughter Miya....my friend, Valerie....it's been a nice break. Initially I was very upset about the suspension, but once I learned to embrace it, I really took advantage of the time I had. And now I feel completely rejuvenated and ready to reassume my role as the President. I'm even more energized than ever! Dr. Vines: I'm glad to hear that, Melinda.....lots of changes have happened in the administration building.... Melinda: So I've heard.... Dr. Vines looks over Melinda's shoulder. Dr. Vines: Ahh...there he is! Melinda: Hmm? Who? Melinda turns around to see who Dr. Vines has spotted. Dr. Vines: Dr. Mwatsumi of course.....I asked him to join us.....
