Season 2 - Episode 40 We resume our episode this week with Lashonda, who is relaxing in her room. She decides to check her facebook messages and sees that she has a message from Denitra, requesting that she call her. Lashonda picks up her cell phone and dials Denitra's number. Denitra: Hey girl! Lashonda: Hey! Denitra: Took you long enough to call me! Lashonda: I'm sorry, girl. I haven't really been on facebook much. Denitra: I called you last week! You ain't call me back. Lashonda: I know. I'm sorry. I been crazy busy. Denitra: That's cool So what's up? How are you? Lashonda: I'm good. How are you girl? Denitra: I'm great! Lashonda: Wow you sound like it! Denitra: I've been talking to Joriah a lot lately. We've been havin' some pretty good conversations, actually. Lashonda: Wow, are you serious? Is he still messin' with Dashia? Denitra: Sort of....girl, I have so much to tell you! Lashonda: I have a lot to tell you, too. Denitra: Okay, well you, first. Lashonda: Well let's see....things with Brian are still good....um....Kyle has HIV.... Denitra: Huh? Kyle the Que? Lashonda: Yeah, girl....long story... Denitra: Okay....what else? Lashonda: Hmm let's see...oh yeah, my mom wants me to pledge Delta..... ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at the administration building, Sean is meeting with Tierra... Sean: Tierra, thank you for comin' to see me. Tierra: Not a problem, Sean. I have to admit, I was surprised to hear from you. Sean: Not to worry, you're not in any trouble. Tierra breathes a sigh of relief. Tierra: Okay, good. I was thinking, "wow, I just crossed, I can't be in trouble already!" Sean laughs Sean: No, nothing like that. I did want to talk to you about something in confidence, though. Tierra: Okay.... Sean: I received a complaint and some concern about the false line of Alpha Kappa Alpha that was goin on last semester. Tierra gets a little fidgety. Tierra: Oh. Yeah....okay.... Sean: I have reason to believe that you were a part of that line for awhile. Is this true? Silence Sean: Tierra, again, anything you say to me in here is confidential. Tierra: Are you sure? I don't want any problems with my sorors. Sean: Were you on the line? Tierra takes a deep breath. Tierra: For a little while.... Sean: And then what happened, Tierra? Tierra: I...I left. Sean: What prompted you to do that? Tierra: I...I just felt like somethin' was funny. I mean, none of the AKA's on campus seemed to know what was goin' on. It just seemed like it wasn't authentic. So I left. I tried to get Denitra and Lashonda to come with me, but they wouldn't listen.... Sean: And Tierra, who was in charge of this line you were on? ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Scene 1 Continued... Denitra: Okay....what else? Lashonda: Hmm let's see...oh yeah, my mom wants me to pledge Delta..... Denitra: Excuse me?! Lashonda: You heard me. Denitra starts to laugh. Lashonda: Why are you laughin'? Denitra: The better question, is why aren't you laughin'? Lashonda: Because I don't find it funny. Denitra: I'm sorry, Shonda. I just think that is the craziest thing I have ever heard! Lashonda: What's so crazy about it? Denitra: Oh my gosh, Shonda, you're not actually thinkin' about doing it, are you? Lashonda: Why not? I'm a legacy. And I mean....maybe the AKA thing didn't work out because I'm really supposed to be a Delta, anyway. Denitra: Lashonda, that is insane, and you know it. I know how bad you wanted to be an AKA. We both did. Don't let what happen discourage you. Lashonda: Discourage me? Are you kidding? I will never be an AKA at Ahpla after what happened! Denitra: Not necessarily.... Lashonda: Huh? Denitra: Nothing. Listen, Shonda.....I have so much to tell you but I want to tell you in person. Just promise me you won't do anything until I get back. Lashonda: I don't know, Nitra.... Denitra: Oh Shonda....okay.....I'll get back as soon as I can. I love you. Please think about what you're doing. Lashonda: I have and.....I'm pretty sure this is what I want to do.... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Over at Joi and Jovan's apartment, Joi has just gotten home. She is dressed head to toe is Zeta Phi Beta paraphernalia. Jovan: Neo! Joi: Will you stop calling me that! Jovan: Why? We all have to go through it and you're no exception. Joi: Whatever, Jovan! Jovan: And you're the queen neo, too! Dag! I thought I was bad when I went over! Joi: I've been wanting to be a Zeta forever. You know that! Jovan: Yeah, I know, baby. Nothin' wrong with representin! I'm just teasin' you! Joi: How was your day? Jovan: Ehh, let's not talk about it. Joi: Okay..... Jovan: How was yours? Joi: It was okay. I had lunch with the sorors! Jovan: I bet you couldn't wait to say that, huh? Joi smiles Joi: Yeah, I'm so excited. This is better than I thought. Greek life is awesome! Jovan: Yeah, it is. It's also a lot of hard work. Joi: I know, I know....I just love being a part of such an awesome sisterhood! Even though Krystalyn still hates me..... Jovan: Krystalyn? That's impossible. Krystalyn's a great girl. Joi: Yeah, to everyone but me! Now back to you..... Jovan: What's up? Joi: What's goin on? Did you have a bad day? Jovan: I guess you could say that....

Sean: I understand, Tierra. You have nothin' to worry about. Everything you shared with me today is confidential. Tierra: Thanks, Sean. Sean: Okay, so if I need anything else, I will give you a call. Tierra: Okay. Tierra gets up to leave. As she opens the door, Jay is standing on the other side. Sean sees him and turns to go back to his desk. Jay walks into his office and closes the door behind him. Jay: Hey. Sean: Oh hey, what's up. Jay: Where have you been lately? Sean: Around. Jay: I see.... Silence Sean: Is there something I can help you with? Jay: I get the sense you're upset with me about something. Sean: And why would you think that? Jay: Sean, stop with the games, okay? If you're mad at me, just say it. Sean: Why would I be mad? Oh by the way, your wife is pretty. Jay: Is that what this is about? You knew I was married, Sean! Sean: Yeah, but that doesn't mean I need to meet her! Jay: Sean, come on. Sean: You could have at least warned me. Jay: I guess you're right. My bad. I'm sorry. Silence Jay: We cool? Jovan: I don't know....just.... Joi: Come on, now. I thought we didn't keep secrets from each other. Jovan: We don't. Joi: So spill it. Jovan: Do you know Mona? Joi: Uh....the one.....Dr. Ferguson's daughter? Jovan: Yeah. Joi: Oh yeah, I mean.....not personally, but I know who she is. Jovan: She wants....she wants us.....Joi, you have to swear to me you won't say anything. Joi: Okay, okay, I won't. Jovan: She wants us to break into the administration building and plant some false paperwork in Dr. Mwatsumi's office. Joi: What? Who? Jovan: The Alpha's. Joi: What? I don't understand! Why would she ask you to do that? Jovan: It's this whole mess with Dr. Ferguson being suspended. Joi: But why would she ask you to do it? Jovan: Remember when she helped us out a few months back at our party? Well now she feels like we owe her. But this is crazy. We could get kicked out of school for this! JoI: Wow, baby. So what are you going to do? Jovan: I don't know....I mean we told her we would, but I'm really starting to have second thoughts. Joi: When is this supposed to take place? Jovan: Tonight.....
